When making an airline reservation, ask about specific\u00a0<b>regulations and restrictions that may apply<\/b>\u00a0when carrying oxygen on-board your flight.<\/li>\n<li>Always schedule a\u00a0<b>pre-trip medical exam<\/b>\u00a0before traveling. Discuss traveling with oxygen with your doctor.<\/li>\n<li>Don&#8217;t forget to obtain a\u00a0<b>letter of medical necessity<\/b>\u00a0from your doctor during your pre-trip medical exam. This must be carried with you and presented to the airline before you board your plane. Remember, the letter should include your oxygen flow-rate. You may want to make an extra copy and tuck it away in your luggage, in the event you lose your in-hand copy before your return home.<\/li>\n<li>Remember that\u00a0<b>altitude may increase your oxygen requirement<\/b>. Your prescription for oxygen should reflect this.<\/li>\n<li>Don&#8217;t forget to\u00a0<b>carry your medications in your on-board luggage<\/b>\u00a0and to carry an <b>adequate supply of COPD rescue inhalers<\/b>\u00a0when you travel.
