{"id":545,"date":"2018-03-18T15:05:33","date_gmt":"2018-03-18T15:05:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/oxygenworldwide.wordpress.com\/?p=545"},"modified":"2018-03-18T15:05:33","modified_gmt":"2018-03-18T15:05:33","slug":"taking-the-breath-of-life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oxygenworldwide.com\/fr\/taking-the-breath-of-life\/","title":{"rendered":"Taking the breath of life"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\tPeople with a lung condition can get short of breath but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blf.org.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The British Lung Foundation<\/a> have set out the following tips for breathing exercises to help the shortness of breath and breathe more easily each day.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/oxygenworldwide.wordpress.com\/2018\/03\/18\/taking-the-breath-of-life\/breathing\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2245 noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2245\" src=\"https:\/\/www.oxygenworldwide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/breathing.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"275\" height=\"183\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>relaxed slow deep breathing<\/strong>: breathe in gently through your nose and breathe out through your nose and mouth. Try to feel relaxed and calm each time you breathe out.<\/li>\n<li><strong>pursed-lips breathing<\/strong>: breathe in gently through your nose and breathe out with your lips pursed as if you are whistling.<\/li>\n<li><strong>blow as you go<\/strong>: use this when you\u2019re doing something that makes you breathless, such as standing up. Breathe in before you make the effort. Then breathe out while making the effort. Try using pursed lips as you breathe out.<\/li>\n<li><strong>paced breathing<\/strong>: this is useful when you\u2019re active, such as climbing stairs. You pace your steps to your breathing. For example, breathe in when on the stair, and breathe out as you go up a stair.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Try to practise them every day. They can also help if you get out of breath suddenly.
